Have there been a recent update especially in relation to the Channel 4 problem?

The only Channel 4 problem I can recollect was a broadcaster issue and eventually corrected by the broadcaster making a change at their end. If you are still having problems then I suggest you explain the symptoms here.

I have noticed, recently, that some recordings set on my 5000T have been different programs but recorded under the correct name and at the correct time. So, for instance, I set up a recording of “Fist Full of Dollars” and was presented with “Last of the Mohicans” but under the “Fist Full of Dolalrs” title.

At a guess the broadcasters made a late change to the broadcast program and didn’t update the metadata that controls accurate recording (or updated it too late for the FVP-5000T to detect the change; in my experience it isn’t as good as earlier Humax models at tracking late changes).

I have been checking my consumption on 4000T recorder

I have it set up on economy which is supposed to have a consumption of 0.5watt

However I find that when checking between 1200hrs and 1400hrs with no recordings scheduled until 21.00hrs on stay

    I record the followings

    Volt = 232v. Current o.123 amp wattage =15.8watt pf=0.56

I wonder if the quoted figure was measured at the 12v input or as I have done input of the mains adapter

You have posted in the 9200T section of the forum rather than the FVP-4000T/5000T section: Admin could the post be moved. Do you have remote recording or the network server on as they will stop the box going into full standby whilst active?

Yesterday I set up ‘Inside the Tower of London’ on C5. Today, that schedule is still showing three dots, not the red ‘R’. Does the Aura have to not be in standby as mine has been left in normal standby, not deep?

Probably a stupid question, but on the Aura have you got remote recording set to on? Probably difficult to change or check from Australia.

Can see upcoming programmes and even select those I wish to record … but …. that’s where it ends. I set it to record and the mobile indicates accepted, but when it comes to the timing of the recording, it shows unable to record!

On the Humax how have you got the settings under:

    Settings> Advanced settings> Remote recording

    configured?

I stand corrected. Happy to be proved wrong and that ITVX does indeed work.

As you started the thread, could you edit the title to indicate ITV X is now supported please.

I have just taken delivery of a second AURA box and I cannot see Sky News on it. No Channel 233, yet I have no problem on my original AURA.

Can you receive Sky Arts on channel 11?

Then I unplugged my Vbox Network TV tuner.. And guess what. It worked.

And it was still working this morning, and is still working now.

So it seems that something about the Vbox is causing the problem, even though it uses different ports and is on a different IP address.

So it looks like my Plex server is going to a new Homerun Network TV Tuner, which hopefully won’t cause me the same problems.

Glad you found the problem. As I stated previously, once the obvious possible errors in setting up FTP are eliminated, it is usually something unusual on the network that is responsible.

I get sound glitches, random reboots when I switch on, apple tv not working, chrome cast glitchy, poor reception across all channels compared to TV, non linear volume control, chase play losing where it is (especially if skipping forward)

I think there is a reasonable chance the poor reception might be improved and possibly the random reboots; I think most of the other issues are know problems that could be resolved by a software update if one was ever to appear.

I am using Filezilla (And I have also tried browsers FTPing with Chrome)

Connection is to 192.168.1.74 (Aura’s FTP)

    Port: 2323

    Password 0000

    User aura

Can I just check the other settings which you haven’t specified; is Logon type “normal” and encryption type “plain”. Are there any WiFi boosters or Homeplug type devices on your network? Previous cases like this have usually been down to some oddity on the network.

So what gives? It’s VERY frustrating to have a feature that I can’t use.

I now hate “Status:Connection attempt failed with “ECONNREFUSED – Connection refused by server”.

Could you tell us which FTP client you are using and what settings you are using in the client please?

Should I bite the bullet and go Aura, accepting the limitations and apparent lack of development?

I think it depends what you want to do; if you just want to use it as a PVR and stream using the built in players then my experience is that it is a reasonable choice; by no means perfect but I can live with its flaws because of the impeccable sub-title handling, the ability to record up to 4 programs at a time and the general responsiveness of the box. If you want to be able to install other apps then life might be more problematic.

For what it is worth, I certainly haven’t heard any rumors about a new Android box.

Asking for a friend, has there been anymore news about ITVX coming to the 5000t?

As far as I know the only news has been that ITVX would not be coming to the FVP-5000T and I notice that Humax have updated their website to remove ITV from the channels available via catchup.

HDR bootloader version – the bootloader is involved in the initial dialog between the devices. There are reports that changing bootloader version (either up or down) can fix green screen symptoms.

There were a few reports some years ago that it might help but since then I have helped several people to install different boot loaders and in all cases it has not made any improvement.

    Photo didn’t upload!

Tuner 1, Signal & Strength, no data on Tuner 2 of 3!

Probably need to make the file size of the picture smaller for it to upload. What I was looking for was the information to the right of “Tuner 1” (channel number and frequency)?
