InactiveJust received an email from ITV confirming that the ITV Hub will no longer be available on the 4000/5000T from end September. This is disappointing since Humax, until very recently were selling refurbished units from their website. It’s not clear to me why ITV Hub cannot be supported as opposed to BBC iPlayer which can. Who is at fault here?

It looks as though the problem lies with ITV.

They are still selling new units and claiming it supports ITV Hub.

One comment in that page says:
“If your device is affected you will see a pop up message in the ITV Hub app when you launch it.”
I have just tried ITV Hub on my Freeview box and a pop-up did not appear.

InactiveLooks like it applies to Freesat boxes too.

InactiveI just received an email from ITV Hub which lead me to this:
https://help.itv.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000562353-Which-Connected-TV-devices-are-supported
My ancient DTR-T2100 doesn’t seem to be affected.
Screen message only pops up on my 5000T.
It must be Youview that’s unaffected as I have a Sony Android TV with it’s own version of Youview and that seems to be OK.

Inactive29th Sept ITV Hub stops working on the above models. Inc TVs from Samsung,Sharp and Panasonic
https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/humax-freeview-boxes-losing-itv-hub/
Quote:When we previously queried a Humax spokesperson about ITV Hub leaving their Freesat boxes, we were told that âCustomers are currently being advised through email and their set-top boxes. If customers have any questions regarding their specific Humax device, our customer support team will be happy to help on 0344 318 8800.âWe contacted Humax regarding the FVP-5000T being added to the list, and will update this article if they have more to add.
Bearing in mind the 5000T is still being sold. Will Humax put stickers on the box saying that âITV Hub no longer functionsâ prior to the sale? Not funny indeed

Very sorry.
Personally your thread should be pinned. The first place I looked

InactivePresumably this relates to the replacement of ITV hub with ITVx. Either they don’t want viewers to be able to record programs and skip the adverts, or there is a compatibility issue with the 5000T.
There will almost certainly be a way round the former (as there is for dealing with adverts on ‘All 4’), but I won’t spell it out here. We’ll see when the time comes.

InactiveSo, can Humax fix the ITVHub app, or will we just get no coverage.
Suppose this is the problem with technology, relatively quick iterations of upgrades mean that older stuff stops working quite quickly⌠where your old VCR may have kept doing what it did on day one for 30 years, or moreâŚ

InactiveI just had an email from ITVX@hello.itv.com which said:
“Hi, ITVX is coming very soon. It’s the new streaming home of all of ITV and so much more, if you hadn’t heard already.
You donât need to do anything – weâll take care of it all for you. Your ITV Hub account will automatically switch to an ITVX account, and you wonât need to re-download the app.
We will be rolling out ITVX very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!”,
My question is
“Will this replace ITV Hub on the cancelled platforms like the Humax 5000T or is that it”?

As far as I know the only news has been that ITVX would not be coming to the FVP-5000T and I notice that Humax have updated their website to remove ITV from the channels available via catchup.
