Probably being generated by your TV – try pressing ‘i’ on tv remote, and/or post your model of TV and no doubt one of our members can help.
Barry
ModeratorAre you pressing the TV button on the YouView remote before trying to switch TV off?
Barry
ModeratorThe retune option, amongst others, is only available if the unit is not recording, or playing back a recording.
Barry
ModeratorNo idea if it will help….have you tried enabling the SD output setting in General Settings, Video menu.

ModeratorDon’t discount the FVP 4000T – It is much improved since early reviews.
Multiple tuners which you would be used to having used a Tivo.
I believe, but stand to be corrected, first versions of Tivo had slow response times.
Don’t waste to much time investigating YouView see my Saliant points especially the embolded items which many would consider basic functions that should be available but are not.

ModeratorClutching at straws, bear with me, but you could try:
Home
Settings
General Settings
Last option listed – Privacy Policy etc
Try unticking the 2 boxes , highlight Done press OK.
Now try On Demand, you should be presented with the Privacy Policy etc again, both options should be ‘ticked, and ‘Done’ highlighted, press OK – see if that makes any difference

ModeratorYou may have only received one update since owning unit but there have been more.

Don’t get a 2000T.
It’s buggy as hell, but Humax don’t care and seem to have abandoned it.
The most frequently reported problem is accessing recordings, I think, although I have only witnessed this once and try as I might cannot replicate – I should state both my 1800 and 2000 are not used ‘in anger’ and are connected purely as test beds with timers set for the evening soaps which I never watch. They get brought out of standby every few weeks to delete said timers.
Never had any HDMI issues, they have both been connected to Panasonic and more recently Sony TV’s

Thanks, not resetting the settings is an update Humax ought to add

What settings do you think a software update is altering?
Barry
ModeratorJust to confirm previous post, downgraded a unit and carried out software update to this version via IP without issue.

Update using the following steps if unit is connected to internet:
Home
Settings
System Settings
System Information
Check New Software should be highlighted, press OK
Updating software does reset recordings.Embarrassed edit: Updating software does not reset recordings.
(thank you to BB for pointing out my stupid error)
Update via IP and USB is covered in our FAQ’s
