But can’t tune any of the other TV’s in the house to receive any signal from the Humax. Is it possible to send signal from Humax via the UHF Aerial cable out to a splitter box or do I need to alter any setup etc.
You need to buy a modulator to plug into the SCART socket.

ParticipantTreid the HDD Test again and this time it completed without error in about 50 seconds.

This is not unique to the SCART interface, it also happens when connected via HDMI.
Oh I haven’t noticed. Under what circumstances does this occur?

Only got HDR T2 500 units, the test on them takes approx 60 seconds.
Thanks Barry. Do we know what it is testing? 60 seconds is too short for a surface scan and I thought it wasn’t feasible to run e2fsck with the humaxtv application loaded due to insufficent memory.

when I turned it on and held the on button down for well over 30 seconds nothing happened.
Why did you hold the “on button” (do you mean the standby button, the big ring on the front) down? As far as I know that isn’t correct for an HDR. Have you downloaded the correct update for the HDR; it is very easy to download the simillarly named HD update which will not work.

I’m not sure, a friend suggested it might need an update and I found the update date which is October 2010… so quite likely.
I think that the version of the software you are using is too old. Odd that it hasn’t updated automatically. Do you turnoff the mains power to the Humax overnight?

ParticipantBarry, do you know what the “reliability improvement” is?

I was looking through the forums and was wondering If the WI-fi
dongle available from amazon and play works on HD Fox T2 as well as HDR model.
Yes.

Where do I find VFORMAT please? I can’t see it in any of the menu settings.
Button on the remote.
Martin Liddle
ParticipantThe Humax will play far more formats directly than via DLNA. Try using FTP to transfer a specimen file to the Humax. If that plays then consider installing the user community enhanced firmware that will allow you to mount the NAS as a share on the Humax.

Unfortunately, if you see my second post, your solution is not possible as the machine will not accept usb access.
Your other post does not make it clear what you are trying to do with the FAT32 drives. If you are trying to apply a software update are you following the instructions to the letter?
1. Download the software from the Humax website.
2. Change the file name to “FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf”.
3. Connect the USB memory stick to the PC and copy the file to a root folder of the USB.
4. Place the product into standby mode (using the STANDBY button on the remote control or the STANDBY button on the front of the product)
Note: The update will not download correctly if you are currently recording
5. Pull out the USB memory stick and connect the USB to the front panel of FOXSAT-HDR.
6. Press and hold the STANDBY button on the front of the product. The product will now start up and the download process should start, please keep the STANDBY button held in for 30 seconds and then release. The following screen should appear on the TV set while the download takes place.

Thanks for the reply Martin? There is another thread with exactly these symptoms but unfortunately no reponses to it. I think I may try a reboot before going to format disk.
Sounds sensible. What is the title of the other thread?

Remote failed again last night, swapping HDMI around and using 0+OK to drain the battery did not help, so I’ll phone Humax today and see about a replacement.
There do seem to be a significant number of problem reports about remotes for the HDR. I agree phoning Humax is the way forward. Please let us know the outcome.

Update software for Humax PVR 9200T to update my humax the manual refers to a PC computer. Has anyone tried to do these software updates through an Apple Mac or an IMAC, are the Macs alright to use for Huamx updates, or is it only PCs?
Basically PC only. It should take only a few minutes so feasible to get a freind or acquaintance to pop round with a notebook PC. It doesn’t need a high specification model so perhaps somebody you know has an old one tucked away you could borrow. If the PC doesn’t have a serial port then you will need to buy a USB to serial adapter and cross over cable. See Flash9200 software for my notes on doing this and my software.
