Can anyone give me a pointer to allow me to do the following:
My DVD collection has been ripped onto my Netgear ReadyNAS drive (.mkv files) and I would like to be able to play these via the Fox T2.
The ReadyNAS has a DLNA server built into it and the Fox T2 DLNA client can access the video files on that server but when I try to play them it says the file format is not supported.
I can play these files on my PC but not through my Fox T2.
The files were ripped using ByteCopy and are using MPEG2 codec (for video) and AC3 codec (for audio).
Why doesn’t the Fox like this format?

Is the ripped DVD file format the Humax will be able to playback written down anywhere?
The Humax will play far more formats directly than via DLNA. Try using FTP to transfer a specimen file to the Humax. If that plays then consider installing the user community enhanced firmware that will allow you to mount the NAS as a share on the Humax.
Worked it out!
For those that come across this in the future:
Via DLNA the Humax won’t play .MKV files but will play .m4v (MPEG-4). It would be nice if there was a list of supported formats via DLNA like there is with Panasonic kit.
Also, I used HandBrake to convert my DVD films to .m4v files.
It’s a great way to consign the DVDs to the loft but still have access to them at the click of a button!
