Hello , I am new to the forum and a working service engineer.

we have a few pvr 9200t that have lost the tuning after doing the update on the Humax site 1.00.26.

Whereabouts in the country are you? There have been reception problems due to unusual atmospheric conditions which might account for the problem. I wasn’t aware of the 1.00.26 software version; where did you download it from?

has any body got the old software that was working that was the 1.00.23 I can try please.

I will have a copy somewhere; send me a Private Message with your email address and I will send it to you.

I’ve tried the DNS fixes posted here, changed my router config successfully and could still connect to the internet via my wired PC, yet the Humax box was showing no connection to the internet, but connection to the router was fine.

What make and model of router?

Just had another look and Coronation Street is showing on BBC2 :?

I have seen this once. Try putting the box into standby and when the disk has stopped spinning turn the power off for 10 seconds before restarting.

My guess is the green screen problem, as stated previously in this thread, is simply due to a hardware component degradation issue…hence the gradual deterioration and increasing frequency of the issue.

I agree that component degradation is involved. The other parameter which you haven’t considered is the TV; this problem is far more common with certain brands of TV. Is the degrading component in the Humax or the TV?

If it is, does it display the “on demand” icons in ITV HD or C4 HD? If it does, it would then suggest that the issue is poor implementation of FP on the 4000t/5000t (which would be of no surprise).

On my eighteen month old LG TV there are no programs available for ITV1 HD or C4 HD in the catchup section of the guide.

Cold power off/on fixes the problem every time – temporarily. Anyone come across any fixes or explanations beyond ‘iffy internet’?

One fix that has helped several people is to change the Network settings to use a fixed IP address and set the DNS address to be either your ISP’s DNS server or a third party DNS server. I use OpenDNS which is 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 or Google which is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. The critical thing is that the DNS address should not be your router.

Yes, I have tested the sticks on the pc, resp. shaped. Sorry, but what is a partition table GBT or MBR?

The partition table describes how the file system(s) are laid out on the drive. MBR is the old style Windows partition table and is limited to hard drives of 2TB capacity or less. GPT is the modern partition table which has a very large capacity. I am not familiar with the Nano (I don’t think it is on sale in the UK) but other Humax boxes don’t currently support devices with a GPT style partition table. Another possible problem is that the drive is drawing more than 800ma of current; what make and model and storage capacity is it?

I have the HDR 1000S with an internal hard drive.

OK you posted in HB-1000S forum section. This is sadly a well known problem with no easy solution. How old is the box?

Hope someone can help, have a Humax 1000s which has just lost all recordings. I have tried the following:

Please can you confirm which box you have:

an HB-1000S (or HB-1100S) which use an external USB drive

an HDR-1000S (or HDR-1010S or HDR-1100S) with an internal hard drive?

egal welchen USB-Stick ich benutze das Gerät erkennt ihn nicht.

Do the USB sticks you have tried use GPT style partition table or MBR?

Google Translate gives “Verwenden die USB-Sticks, die Sie ausprobiert haben, eine Partitionstabelle im GPT-Stil oder einen MBR?”

I’ve used lots of different makes and models of digi box things and it’s always there even if you have to go to settings to have it there permanently.

See if this FAQ method helps https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/how-to-make-favourites-sticky-1

Hello everyone, I can’t get radio on the TV guide. I see that there is a separate app for radio with 100s of stations but I want the normal guide to include it.

Whilst in the TV Guide, press the “+” button, select “Change group” and select “Radio”. Repeat process to go back to TV or HDTV.

I see that this irritating prompt has reappeared while watching BBC1 SD live.

I also find it mildly irritating but there have been complaints from some users about its absence.

The best way of allocating a fixed ip address is via an address reservation on the router. This allocates a IP address from the DHCP pool to a MAC address.

In this way the same IP address will always be allocated.

Until the router is reset or a replaced. I agree your method is the simplest but personally I prefer to set fixed IP addresses on any element of the network that needs to be accessible (servers, NAS, PVRs, printers). Yes you have to be careful not to allocate the same IP address to two pieces of equipment and you have to use IP addresses outside of the range of the DHCP pool. In my case a lot of my equipment gets moved to different locations and used with different routers.
