If I ‘convert’ programmes from the Aura to play on other devices does this mean that I would lose them to watch on the tv?
Sorry, I dont understand how this works…..
No you don’t lose them, you get a second version of the programme after the conversion. Make a short recording and try converting it.

I must have had a similar problem. I ended up changing the box codes for my other Humaxes – made more complicated because I’ve had to replace the other remotes with One for All devices.
I’m assuming you can’t change the remote code for the other Humax.
Correct.
I suppose one solution that might work is to pair the remote via Bluetooth and cover the IR sender on the remote and the receiver on the Aura- if you can find them!
I know where the sensor is on the Aura. I might give the Bluetooth a try but the problem isn’t communicating with the box as it is responding as I would expect when changing the remote code; the problem is that the code doesn’t change.

Which channel is giving you problems and which transmitter are you receiving from?

Thanks all. Gives me hope still.
It’s the WiFi connection. I’m trying to set the static ip on the WiFi connection. Anyone got static working on the WiFi connection then?
I try to minimise the use of WiFi so I haven’t tried to use it on the Aura.
Gateways correct. IP address I give is outside the DHCP managed range. The default bitmask length of 24 is sufficient for the 255 addresses in my home range. I only set to 8 as I was clutching at straws.
Here’s what I tried
IP: 192.168.0.12
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Network length: 24
DNS 1: 192.168.0.35
DNS 2: 1.1.1.1
Looks sensible to me. There have been some reports of odd behaviour with the Aura and a pihole. Could you temporarily remove the pihole and see if the Aura WiFi works?

ParticipantI have been using static IP on my Aura for several years without any problems.

I am not the original poster of the link, but i believe it’s this? …..
If you purchase that one be aware you need to cut the connector off the original Aura PSU and attach the wires the correct way round to the adapter.
Do you know what the correct dimensions are for the Aura power supply connector?

Where exactly does the responsibility lie for fixing this? Obviously I’d like to involve myself in persuading them to sort it!
An ex-BBC employee has posted the following information on Hummy.tv:
“PSB2 aka D3&4 is now C&M in the cloud by BT for the companies concerned… https://www.mediaandbroadcast.bt.com/case-studies/coding-and-multiplex.html
Complaints to the Broadcasters (ITV, C4, C5) would be the correct route — plus Everything TV (aka Freeview) and maybe Ofcom.”
My understanding is that the information about the nature of the problem has been passed to Humax.

Is this a further example of the notorious bug? Started at the end of last week, but most recordings are now failing. Resets, even a hard drive erase, still won’t do the job it’s supposed to do.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I am having difficulty in recording from ITV1.

Thankfully it’s fixed again now. You’d think given it keeps happening over the years that they’d at least allow EMails about it. What will people do when this forum closes?
I would guess they will move to another forum.

Are the tuners in the Aura rubbish?
I don’t think they are rubbish but they are less sensitive than the tuners of earlier boxes. I think there were certainly some Auras that were sold with tuners that didn’t work very well.
My Aura often displays a mini black screen in the top right hand side with a progress report on the programme selected, telling me that there is a problem with the signal.
I have never seen that behaviour although I have seen lots of odd behaviour.
Any one been able to resolve this issue?
The first question would be what is the signal strength and quality as reported by the Aura?

A good old-fashioned Freeview or Freesat PVR will remain a useful device to have in your TV set-up whatever fancy new streaming device you may also decide to have.
True, but for how much longer will TV be broadcast over the air?

Aerial times for channel 83 are currently 6p.m. to 1a.m.
Thanks, I didn’t know the end time. I think it’s likely the OP tried to record outside those times. Even if connected to the internet the Aura won’t record the streaming service although you can probably watch the channel (don’t know for certain as I haven’t tried!)
Why do you think Channel 83 is a streaming service. I am assuming the Channel 83 the OP is using is Together TV which is transmitted on the SDN multiplex?

Hi everyone, has anyone else had this problem please.
New Aura box 6 weeks ago, all set up, all working ok on everything except….
When trying to record programmes from Channel 83 TogetherTV, the prograammes appear on the recorded list as being recorded and ok, but when trying to view them all I get is a black screen/no audio and with no time progress movement on it. I can fast forward the black screen and start and stop it just like another recorded programme, but all that is presented on screen is a black picture.
I would suggest you report the problem to Humax.

I can’t watch any TV channel on my Humax. I have tuned and saved all the channels. The signal strength is “strong” and the quality is “good”. I have updated the software and re-booted. Any advice?
Which model of Humax PVR do you own?

I assume a 2.5″ factor SSD will need some sort of bracket to fit? I can look into that as well, but have seen mixed success on my trawling on here with SSDs, hence why a direct replacement was my first option.
A SSD should work but usually they are more expensive than a conventional hard drive and although they are certainly faster you are unlikely to see any performance benefit. The only guaranteed benefit is that they will be much quieter.
