You can check this link to see if there are any reported problems for your postcode:

    https://faq.external.bbc.co.uk/templates/bbcfaqs/emailstatic/interferencePage

If the problems continue, perhaps you need to check that your aerial, downleads and connectors are performing.

Agree, and you will need to search for channels 29, 47, 48, 51, 52 and 54. Did you re-tune after the switch on Wednesday?

However, I notice that the transmitter is very low power on 5 of the 6 MUXes. The 6th is at 20KW power while the others are no more than 2KW. That strong MUX carries 10 channels, which I don’t think is a coincidence.

When you manual tune, check the signal strength and quality of each channel and report back to us.

Hi and welcome to our forums.

Do you know which transmitter you receive your signals from?

If you delete your channels and manually retune you should pick one of the transmitters and search on each channel from that transmitter.

    Here are the channel numbers:

    Oxford

    53

    55

    57 (for HD – choose DVB-T2)

    59

    60

    62 (will become 50 in 2013)

    Sandy Heath

    21 (for HD)

    24

    27

    31 (will become 51 after 11th May)

    48

    52

    Welcome to our forums! :-)

The 9150 is a twin tuner model. That means it can receive 2 ‘multiplexes’ at once, allowing picture-in-picture, to record two programmes at once or watch one and record another.

A ‘multiplex’ is a single digital transmission channel that can carry several individual TV or radio programmes at once. E.g. there is a multiplex that carries most of the BBC channels. If you are recording two programmes you will be able to watch a third, but only if that programme is on the same multiplex as either of the recording programmes.

There are 5 standard definition freeview multiplexes, and these carry all SD TV and radio transmissions for Freeview. See our FAQ thread here for more information.

With regard to your second question, are you using accurate recording, or do you have the ‘start early’ and ‘end late’ times set?

Welcome Mark. Make sure your HDR has the latest software installed.

The MAC address of your unit is in the System Information menu. Configure your router to allow that one.

If you still have trouble, try entering the password in ASCII rather than HEX.

Does this happen only if your 9200 is within 15 minutes of the next scheduled recording?

You have another chance tomorrow between 10am and 9am on Tuesday. You can either leave your box on standby overnight tomorrow, and make sure your automatic updates are enabled.

Alternatively, perform a manual search for upgrades between those two times.

All is well on the EPG front this morning. Rioting in the household has subdued.

Thanks voxmagna for a detailed post. I think poor quality cabling is responsible for most reception problems.

I have the standard coax from a dist amp in my loft to 4 points around the house. This was installed by the house builder, so they used the cheapest they could find. Its not been bad, considering I’m 65 miles from Winter Hill and I have 2 amps in line to boost the signal (and any interference!).

I recently changed the dist amp to increase the number of available ports (kids want TV in their rooms these days). After that, my trusty HD Fox T2 in the kitchen produced more-than-average pixellation. A quick visit back to the loft and I discovered there was a single strand of braid wrapped around the core inside the connector for the kitchen coax. I removed that and the picture is perfect again.

Welcome to our forums sunnysue. I’m glad you have the problem sorted, and now you can record 4 programmes and watch 2. 😆

Hi and welcome to our forums.

I suggest you read the rather long thread pinned at the top of the forum list. Start at the last page and work backwards!
