A post on hummy.tv tells me it sometimes happens on his/her T2, and is believed to be a software bug.

I wouldn’t take much notice of that idiot.

Edit: I see the idiot responded with the usual nonsense – ‘little’ really, pmsl – I think not.

Have you tried a factory reset, see if that improves matters?

I’ve just checked this out on HDR T2, 1800T and 2000T and the screen saver clock is working fine on my units.

Can’t say I am surprised, was an outlet for serial whinging, and some of the comments led to the one person who could, and does make a difference leaving.

Does anyone have a HDR-1800T yet? I wonder if RF loopthrough is enabled on the units that are shipping now?

    I do :-)

Yes loopthru works and is enabled with power saving in standby off.

Do you have any comment on my query regarding functionality using the Scart socket?

Will work just as well via scart, HD channels will obviosuly not look as good compared to viewing via HDMI.

Without doubt 2000T why, just read the FAQ’s on the Youview boxes to see what basic PVR functions are missing.

If HDD space is not a consideration then maybe 1800T which is cheaper.

Plus 1800/2000T will give you access to the IPTV channels if LAN connection is used.

Does the rear USB have any functionality? Can it be used for export/import/playback?

Apologises for delay in reply – yes same as 2000T.

Some other facts which might interest potential purchasers.

The remote is not multi function, but is multi code to stop conflicts with other T2/freesat Humax products. It is matt black rather then the glossy finish of the 2000T. Central cursor buttons are rubberised rather then plastic and therefore no clicking!

Graham – MDB 1.3 (3 digit codes) appear to work for me.

    Thanks Barry

So if i buy this new box, will it provide me with all the same catch up facilities as a Roku 3?

Can only comment on YouView box as I do not have Roku.

    On YV the players are:

    BBCiplayer

    itvplayer

    4OD

    Demand5

    NowTV

    Milkshake (channel 5 kiddies)

UKTV (content from Really, Dave, and Yesterday)

    Sky Store (movie rental)

    S4C

According to the technical blurb on the Humax Direct site it has a USB port on the front in addition to the one on the rear.

It is wrong, which is why I had not bothered linking to it.
