One seller is advertising it as having ‘Smart Recording’. What is ‘Smart Recording’?
At a guess it’s accurate recording for a one off programme, and series recording for programmes that have the required coding provided by the broadcaster.
It’s a Freeview+ box pvr. It’s so called smart recording capability is limited by the data provided by the Freeview epg.
How it differs from the other Freeview+ pvrs from Humax, I expect that we will find out in the near future.
At the price quoted it will be interesting to find what is omitted (if anything) other than the relatively small Hard Disk capacity.

InactiveI would expect Smart Recording to also include intelligent clash resolution and recording alternative showings if possible.
Possibly also pre-emptive recording of similar programmes that it thinks the user may also like but I think Tivo have got a lock on that kind of thing.

InactiveThe photo shows it doesn’t have a USB port on it. So this is like a 2000T with the USB removed and a smaller hard drive. That is a poor deal when a Sagemcom or Philips has a bigger hard drive and USB port for the same price. And of course ISP boxes are even cheaper with no USB and bigger hard drives.

ModeratorNo front USB port, but there is one on rear of unit.

InactiveDoes the rear USB have any functionality? Can it be used for export/import/playback? Or is it just for wifi only?
With such a small hard drive capacity, lack of USB export/import could be a big problem.

Thanks. Your guess as been cofirmed as being correct on the Humax Direct site. I was hoping that it was gong to be a bit more than just the normal Freeview+ requirements.

Apologises for delay in reply – yes same as 2000T.
Some other facts which might interest potential purchasers.
The remote is not multi function, but is multi code to stop conflicts with other T2/freesat Humax products. It is matt black rather then the glossy finish of the 2000T. Central cursor buttons are rubberised rather then plastic and therefore no clicking!
