I have standard firmware. I was hoping to put video files onto network or tranfer music back and forth via network
You need to enable the FTP server on the HDR and use an FTP client to move files back and forth. Note that if you want to take recordings off the HDR then they need to be decrypted first.

After the loader bar has reached 100% the screen goes blank and starts the cycle again.
This problem has been reported a few times previously and I don’t think we have ever found a satisfactory solution; hope I can be proved wrong.

I have put in what seems to be required router password etc but when i try to access network , i get the no server found message.
What exactly are you trying to do? Do you have the standard firmware or the custom firmware?

I do have the custom firmware installed and I think it’s great, however since the Olympic update I am unable to access the webased EPG using this firmware. It used to be very useful. I wonder if there is a fix.
The version of the custom firmware needs to match the Humax software version so you need to install the latest version of the custom firmware

ParticipantHas there any evidence of file system corruption such as duplicated entries in the list of recordings?

It may be co-incidence but it really seems the EPG change corrupted something.
Has anything else changed on your network eg a new NAS or software update to a NAS?

Surely there must be some way of getting this to work?
You could install the custom firmware which will allow read write access to an NTFS formatted drive.

HI have a PVR-9150T and it was fine until we had to re-tune it today.
You want the Biggles tuning instructions see Link to tuning instructions

In your experience does doing this enable all the functions to work normally again?
In about 90% of the cases yes; if it doesn’t then the hard drive will need replacing.

Just realised I don’t know how to do a format
It is under the HDD Control menu item in (I think) the Record section; default password is 0000.

I brought a Foxsat HDR T2
Do you mean Foxsat (satellite) or FOX (Freeview)? How many recordings do you have?

Does re-scanning the channels automatically wipe schedule recording listings.
Yes that is how it works. It is pretty close to the top of the list of things I would like Humax to improve.

I tried repair and worryingly got the message that an ‘error was detected while repairing bad sectors.’ Contact a WD technician for support.
I would be concerned that this indicates that the disk has exhausted its supply of spare sectors; in which case the best way forward is to change the disk.

I would choose repair. A reformat will remain a later possability.
I agree that repair (which I assume will attempt to map out the bad sectors) is definitely the thing to do. If that works then format the disk in the Humax.

I had a problem back in December with my camera and the memory card when it went wrong. Tried several pieces of recovery software at that time – typically they worked in varying success levels and can’t quite remember which was best only that some were better than others.
I would guess they are intended for Windows file systems and will be of no help with the Humax. No harm in trying though.
