I lost a long list of recorded programmes before the clocks changed. I read, maybe here, to reinstate default settings and reinstall programme lists, which I did with brief success (& with the addition of series record option, which I hadn’t seen before).
Reset to default settings is the wrong solution to the problem. You need to format the drive from the HDD Control menu (default password is 0000). With luck this will be a complete cure for the problem but if it returns fairly quickly then it suggests the hard drive is failing.

Manual tuning didnt work for any of the missing channels!
What transmitter are you receiving from? Could you provide the first part of your postcode?

Could this simply be the loss of the odd episode of a series-link in the week after the clocks change
It could be but in that case don’t they stay in the schedule? The OP says “when I look in the recording schedule there is no sign of it”.

This can also be caused if the drive is getting corruption.
Yes a corrupt file system may cause recordings to disappear. But the OP is saying the series has vanished from the schedule which I don’t think has anything to do with file system problems, does it?

Nope hasn’t worked. Starts playing recorded program’s, then get message that channel is scrambled. Any further ideas?
I take it that watching programs live via the box works OK? I think you have done the obvious things. I still think it is most likely to be a disk problem. If the box is out of warranty then opening it and connecting the disk to a PC and running the disk manufacturers diagnostics would be my way forward. Maybe somebody else has an alternative theory.

Body of Proof is on 5USA from 9 till 10 pm. I’m not sure what you mean by runaway timer.
A runaway timer is where a recording continues long after the actual end of the recorded program.

Has anyone had similar problems?
It is a known issue. The last software update for the 9150/9300 contained a fix for this problem so I guess that means that Humax know the cause but no idea whether there will be another update for the 9200.

On my PVR9200T remote control the volume, information, PIP and mute buttons do not work. The others do – looking at the transmitter end with a digital camera I can see that the other buttons create a signal while the ones that do not work do not show a signal.
Sounds like a faulty remote. Your options are to open it and try and clean it or buy a replacement either from Humax or a third party product.

I have an HDR-FoxT2 that has been recording SD reliably on freeview for the past year. Now that we have HD turned on in Northern Ireland I too can only get picture but no sound. I am still on freeview – any suggestions?
What software version is the box using? Anything prior to 1.02.20 will demonstrate exactly this problem.

Anyone suggest how I can get them tuned in on my new Humax?
Try manual tuning see Manual Tuning FAQ

(Cost up to an extra £20 p.a. based upon +2.5w, 19 standby hours per day 12p per unit))
I can’t make those figures work; I get something close to £2 p.a.

Funny, but my Humax problems are always on a Wednesday.
I can’t explain why you always get problems on a Wednesday but we have had a number of similar reports and as far as I can remember updating the software fixed it in all cases.
If only I could retrieve my deleted recordings!
Sorry but they are gone.

Yes, you’re right, it is 3023.0000. I mis-read the 3 for an 8.
OK so it should update OK when the software update is next broadcast. The next transmission is from 10am on Wednesday through to 9am on Friday this week. If you leave the box in standby (ie press the standby button in the top right corner of the remote) overnight on Wednesday the update should be downloaded Wednesday night and applied when you bring the box out of standby on Thursday. Assuming the update works properly do a reset to default settings and hopefully your box will now be working properly.

I have got a Humax HDR-FOXT2 Freeview box and have recently bought a Humax W-LAN Stick (150N) to connect my box to my wireless broadband. I put the stick into the back of the box and followed the instructions in the box, but to no avail.
Can you describe what happens with the stick in the Humax? Are you able to enter Internet settings? I take it you purchased the dongle from Humax?
I placed the stick into my Windows 8 PC and it would not pick it up at all. Can anyone shine a light on this or point me to the necessary driver update?
I think drivers for third party hardware may take a while to appear. This is a link to Windows 7 driver RT3070 driver ; I don’t know whether it will work with Windows 8.

ParticipantYour software version is slightly too old and is quite probably responsible for the problems you are having. As Biggles notes please check the System ID again. If it is really 3028.0000 then that explains why your box is not updating to the latest software. I can supply a file to correct the problem but this would require equipment costing a few pounds to install it that you probably don’t possess. If you can confirm the System ID we can decide the way forward.
