I keep looking out for the Manhattan T4-R myself, i can’t find if you can record more than 2 programmes at the same time, this is going to be the main thing for me.
Yup, Manhattan are being a bit coy about that. For me the most important thing will be to discover whether early adopters think it is reasonably bug free,

Still doing the same with the reset ItvX . BBC iPlayer . And also having issues with recordings .
Such great potential box let down by Humax .
Is there anything that can do what this box can do please .
Manhattan T4-R looks interesting but its release keeps getting delayed and I haven’t seen its full specification,

I’m trying to find out if the Arris box would be a better box than the Humax I have.
There are a lot of conflicting reports about it.
And I understand that Arris can record more progs at once with a 4-channel LNB..correct?
The Arris box certainly has had problems but I don’t know the current status. I would try DigitalSpy and AVForums for more user information. The advertising certainly says it will record 4 channels with a wideband LNB.

Has Humax really left Free Sat alone?
Other way round; Freesat chose Arris rather than Humax to make the next Freesat box.

Just doing a search for a new box etc, and came across the Humax Aura
How do they compare with what I have please?
The Aura isn’t a satellite box; it needs a TV aerial. If that isn’t a problem for you then you need to do your research carefully as the Aura isn’t perfect. I use one as my PVR and I can live with it but it does have irritating bugs that Humax should have fixed.

I haven’t tried the factory reset yet to see if that would make a difference. Any thoughts?
Absolutely no harm in trying so give it a go.

It has been working fine for a couple of years. However recently, whenever it is switched off at the mains and switched on again it goes through the full setup procedure.
I would guess that the Flash RAM used to store settings has failed and sadly that isn’t an easily fixable problem. The options are not to turn the power off or buy a new or second hand PVR both of which cost money.

Hi all, I have disconnected the LAN cable from the humax to the TV and now Wlan is accessible, I have selected it and put in my password and WOW all is now logged in to the Internet.
Thanks for letting us know. Glad you got it sorted.

ParticipantI am slightly puzzled that the pictures of the Network Connection Status show Wired connection LAN OK although it clearly hasn’t acquired a valid IP address vi DHCP. Do you have anything plugged into the LAN ethernet port?

our humax box was wired to our ee router but on moving house they are too far apart to go wired, the router is now talking to the Internet but I can’t check or change the Wlan settings on the box as it is greyed out, any help please
Was the box recording when you tried to configure the WiFi? Some settings are greyed out whilst recording although I can’t see why that should include WiFi. If that isn’t the case, have you tried putting the FVP into standby and then turning the electrical power off for 30s and trying the WiFi configuration again?

But yes I retuned the Aura box (automatic channel search), and all the programme data returned in view. Also appeared in the app as well.
Thanks for letting us know the outcome.

Can I just check which model of Humax PVR you have?

I’ve retuned, i’ve check the new disk, and it’s fine.
Did you have the smart tune option off when you retuned? If not, try again with it off.

I have noticed over the last few months (now Oct 2023) to my knowledge that channel numbers 37, 38, 50, 52, 61 and 83 are showing ‘No Programme Information’ on all 7 days of the guide. Admittedly these are of the lesser important stations, but a couple of these stations show movies, and on a few occasions I have wanted to record such content. When I use the TV internal guide (not Humax), they all appear just fine. Why have Humax turned off the programme information on these channels? This is the same on the Aura app too.
My best guess would be that it is a tuning issue. If you haven’t retuned the box recently I suggest you do an automatic channel search and see if that fixes the issue.

Can you advise please. When you said that your drive had 3 ext3 folders in have you any idea of the Folder capacities? Also what was the drive capacity please.
The first partition is 1.1GB, the second partition is 488GB and the third partition 11GB. The drive is 500GB. For a drive with a larger or small er capacity keep the first and last partitions the same size and change the size of the middle partition so that the full capacity of the drive is used.
