I’ve tried 2.4 and 5 WiFi although the box is connected to my main TV via Ethernet, not sure if that could make a difference.

So your Aura starts recording without a recording being scheduled, that’s a new one on me.
On rare occasions I have seen this problem but in my case the recordings stop at the scheduled end time.

I’ve had a 5000T for the past 8 months and just recently it has started making a buzzing/vibration after it has been on a short while.
How loud is the buzzing? In my experience all Humax PVRs make some noise from the hard drive or if fitted, an internal fan. We must be getting close to the point where it is economic to use SSDs in PVRs but until then I doubt that they will be completely silent.

I’ve downloaded the app and registered. When I then open app to try to pair the box usually it doesn’t find the box. I’ve tried entering the IP address and I get the message “Connection has failed”. A couple of times I do see the box in the app and clicking it I get the same message. I’m connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iPhone/iPad (Both fail to pair).
Do you have any Wi-Fi extenders in your network which have been known to cause various problems?

Sorted. After doing a factory reset the Humax now retains channels and wifi connections even when it has been unplugged.
I am pleased I was wrong when suspecting the Flash RAM. Glad you found a fix.

You need to get an aerial for the FVP-5000T to work. If you are not far from a transmitter an indoor aerial might work otherwise it needs an external aerial.

I believe a lot of issues are hardware related as issues (e.g. oversensitive tuners) cannot seem to be fixed via software or firmware updates.
My experience suggests the tuners are less sensitive than previous models and if the signal strength is too high it can be reduced by using an attenuator.
seemingly related to Humax’s silence and lack of updates.
My opinion is that Humax have lost interest in the PVR market and hence halted the software development too early in an attempt to save money.

I still believe there is a hardware issue with this box which is impossible to fix without an (expensive) redesign and product recall.
So please tell us specifically which problems you think are hardware related? My personal view is that the majority of issues I experience are software related.

I need to perform a reset on my Humax Aura but I am unable to find the “Settings” button. The “Up” button does work nor the “Home” so where do I go from here?
I don’t have a “Home” button on my Aura remote? The way I access settings is press the red “F” button and then right arrow five times to settings symbol between “Recordings” and the power symbol.

I have a human aura when it’s in deep sleep mode I sometimes fails to record programs it’s happened quiet a few times it will record sometimes up. 10 minutes and fails to record the rest and sometimes says failed to record due power loss anyone else having this problem if so is there a fix
I think the most commonly used fix is not to use deep sleep mode.

I think i may have got the Manhattan box wrong.
Do they have record, playback etc like my Humax?
Depends which box you are talking about; they often have two models one that records and one which doesn’t record.
