InactiveI’ve tried a search but it’s not working.
On my FVP 5000T programme guide, sometimes programmes only a couple of hours ahead have “No programme information” so I can’t set a recording.
Any clues?

Tune to BBC1-HD for 15 mins or so. Consider setting a power on/off timer pair on BBC1-HD every morning with a 15 min gap to refresh the epg.

InactiveThanks for that.
I wanted during the afternoon, to record a programme on BBC4 which started at 10.00pm. But whenever I pressed “Guide.” beyond 8.00pm-9.00pm it still said “no programme information.”
The set had been on all day. I’d been back and forth between Freeview and cable during the day and recording stuff on both.
It was still saying the same at 8.00pm. when I pressed “Guide.”
But I then tuned to BBC4, pressed “Guide” and I could then read everything scheduled on that channel until 3.30 in the morning when it will close down.
strange that.

Was this BBC 4 SD or BBC4 HD?

InactiveI sometimes see this too. Occasionally a channel will show “No Programme Information” for a day or two. Tuning to the actual channel first, as doghouse mentioned, helps sometimes but not always. I’m not sure if it’s even a Humax problem or rather the broadcaster not generating the information.

That’s because Every Mux carries the full epg data in a round robin. The PSB3 Mux appears to be the fastest. That’s why I suggested a power on/off timer pair on BBC1-HD every morning to rebuild the epg.

InactiveThanks for the reasponses.
I’d left it on BBC4 HD last night as I’d been watching something on thst channel when I closed it down.
It was still on that channel as I expected, when I turned it on this morning. When I pressed “Guide” I could see the schedule on every channel as far forward as I cared to search.

InactiveI’ve also heard that its best not to use the remote whilst waiting for the EPG to populate.

InactiveThank you Graham! It has taken a few runs through your routine to fully populate my programme schedules, but now AOK thanks to you!
I was at the end of my tether and about to recycle this equipment, which I’d only had for a few months, yet had found so useful. So…you have saved a Humax device’s life!

Thank you Graham!
Sadly Graham won’t see your post because he died suddenly not long after that posting. I think it is good that his legacy posts continue to help people.

InactiveI too have recently started getting EPG problems, with “No programme Information Available” appearing on multiple channels. This has only started fairly recently as I always used to be able to set forthcoming films to record for 7 days in advance on my FVP5000T. My Foxsat PVR still allows me to programme 7 days in advance. I’m on a communal aerial and had an engineer check the system last week, where he found a minor fault but the received signal was excellent. I spoke to a local friend the other night and he is getting exactly the same problem on his terrestrial PVR.

InactiveThis seems to be quite a common complaint about the 4000T/5000T. Nobody seems to have come up with a definite cause nor a solution. Whether it is the box or problems with the data being broadcast for the EPG is unclear.
It is unlikely to be anything to do with your aerial system if good quality is being reported (and assuming that your received pictures are also fine).
Something often suggested for random problems is to switch to standby and then disconnect the power to the box for a few minutes. There is no guarantee that it will help, but it is a possibility.

InactiveAs suggested by the late Graham, a good policy, if you are not already doing it, is to set up a Power Timer for 20 minutes or so at around 0700 with it set to select Ch101 (BBC1 HD). In that 20 minutes the EPG ought to populate with the current data from a good source.
To set a power timer, select Settings after pressing the “F” button on the remote and from there System Settings. Make sure it is set to Daily while you are setting it up.
You will need to set “Power on timer” with all the start details and “Power off timer” with the time about 20 minutes later than the power on time.

InactiveI have been using a ‘Foxsat’ PVR for many years without any EPG problems whatsoever, and only started using a 5000T PVR when my satellite signal was being partially blocked by tree growth a few months ago. Initially I had no problems with EPG and could set the PVR to record programmes 7 days in advance, just as I had with the ‘Foxsat’ for many years, but some weeks ago I started to get the problems outlined in my first post. I’ve now put the ‘Foxsat’ back in line as the dish has been repositioned but find I am getting similar problems with no EPG on that PVR as well.

InactiveI think I have have found the problem with the Humax not showing future listings (and indeed my Samsung tv the same) and displaying ‘No Information’. Usually for a day or so ahead.
They are both at least 3 years old and I think so many new Freeview channels have been added that the guide is simply overwhelmed – maybe not enough memory?
The solution is to delete channels you never use. Go to Settings/Channel Settings/Edit Channel List and then tick the channels and press + for edit and delete. This has to be done one at a time but 10 minutes of doing this brought all the info back up to the usual week ahead.
Of course to bring channels back I think you’d have to go for a rescan then go through the process again.
