Is anyone else with this issue also seeing lots of ‘No programme Information’ entries in the EPG – usually not so much for the current day’s guide but often with upcoming days? I don’t know whether it could be linked but I’ve been seeing it a fair bit as long as I’ve owned the box. It seems to be worse when tuned to certain channels more than others but I could be wrong on that as the programmes with no information listed do usually get populated if I wait a few minutes.
Are you confident that your box is tuned to a single transmitter?

Unfortunately the contents are HD
Then pop over to the hummy.tv forum for advice.

When I put the FVP 4000T in line with rf cable ( yes the standby power is enabled ) the signal level drops to between 35 and 40% and the signal quality drops to between 0 and 30%
When you say “standby power is enabled” do you actually mean “power saving in standby” is disabled?

I have purchased a new FVP – 4000T is it possible to transfer the programmes still on my old HDR-FOX T2 to my new machine
Is the content SD or HD?. The SD is straightforward (copy to an attached USB drive on the HDR-FOX T2 which will decrypt SD content); the HD is trickier.

CrystalDiskInfo told me there were a few issues, though my laptop’s own HDD was not perfect either.
If I am interpreting the figures correctly there are about 800 reallocated sectors which is quite high but not completely broken. You might try Seagate Seatools on it to see if it can fix the “Reported Uncorrectable Errors”. I think a new hard drive would fix the immediate problem but given the known issues with the 9300T I am loath to advise spending much money on it. If feasible it might be time to consider a more modern PVR>

lves reverting to a direct aerial connection to the TV which is fine. I recognise we are in the weaker coverage of Sutton Coldfield but with signal Strength and Quality both consistently at 100% I’m at a bit of a loss. Latest software 1.01.57 updated over air this week; thought might improve the situation, apparently not.
I agree with Graham, 100% signal strength is far too high. I think about 80 to 85% is optimal and anything between that and 50% should be very satisfactory. If you are in a weak signal region do you have an amplifier in the aerial circuit? If so is it possible to reduce the gain or to temporarily bypass it? If not consider adding a variable attenuator to the aerial cabling.

If I disconnect the SATA lead to the hard disk drive then it can work fine as a plain ‘digibox’ with no facility to record. So that means the HDD is the problem?
That is certainly the most likely explanation. To confirm it you need to look at the SMART data for the hard drive. There are several possible tools to use eg Link to article on SMART If you can post the statistics here then we can give a more confident opinion.

I have a old HDR-1000S on the way, and I’m wondering if there are any attempts/hacks available.
I am a techy person – but I dont want to start from the ground up if I can save time
I seem to recollect that the people involved in the current custom firmware have had a quick look at the HDR-1000S but concluded that it would be a more difficult target as Humax have closed the loopholes previously used. Try asking over at hummy.tv to see if someone can offer you any pointers.

Do you think that the fact I haven’t been leaving the 9150T on standby at night and it hasn’t been updating could be the reason why it skips such a lot on playback
Probably not; does it skip on all playback or only from certain channels?

What sort of kit do I need to achieve that? Can I use my Windows PC?
You haven’t said what format the drive is using. If it is EXT2 or EXT3 then you need to install a driver to allow a Windows PC to access an EXT2 formated dive. There several to choose from; perhaps start with Ext2FSD from http://www.ext2fsd.com/?page_id=16
I can’t go via the HDR-FOX-T2 as its drive is too small for the archive drive content.
You could install the custom firmware on the HDR-FOX T2 which would allow you delete sidecar files. It would also give you other benefits that are outside the scope of discussion on this site.

Sorry, made a mess of quoting relevant text block…(can’t see a “preview” on this forum…)
There isn’t a preview but you can edit posts for a short period after posting.

What recordings will be viewable and/or transferable to the new machine internal drive, and would I then be able to re-export them to a new external USB drive?
You won’t be able to use the HD recordings as they will still be encrypted and only playable on the box that made them. The SD recordings should be playable from the USB drive although you may need to delete or move the sidecar files elsewhere as the format differs between the two boxes i.e. just keep the .ts file. Need an FVP_4000T to answer about copying recordings onto the hard drive.

• Software is optimized for server load balance.
Barry, can you say any more about that change?

If I can get a new CPU board for £27 that would be great! Is there a official route to get hold of one?
You get a repair to your circuit board for a specific problem. Ring up Humax support.
