I have a old HDR-1000S on the way, and I’m wondering if there are any attempts/hacks available.

I am a techy person – but I dont want to start from the ground up if I can save time :)

https://wiki.hummy.tv – looks interesting but lacks details.

The link is for the discontinued terrestrial Freeview HD-FOX-T2 and HDR-FOX-T2 boxes.

Similar is available for the also discontinued Foxsat-HDR Freesat+ box.

I seem to recollect that the people involved in the current custom firmware have had a quick look at the HDR-1000S but concluded that it would be a more difficult target as Humax have closed the loopholes previously used. Try asking over at hummy.tv to see if someone can offer you any pointers.

It was thought at the time of launch that the recording partition was LUKS encrypted because when connected to a PC the Video partition was not accessible, though later posts say you can now see the actual files.
