I’ve been having a similar experience with my 4000T which was perfect until Christmas.
Then from January I’m now getting frequent gaps in the EPG.
Which transmitter are you receiving from?

It does add some credence to there being a problem either with the Nottingham transmitter or the EPG assembling/broadcasting system there.
Try reporting the problem to the BBC as a complaint (advice from the OFCOM site about transmitter problems).

If it works and just functions as a normal 3 tuner video recorder I will be pleased.
And I’m hoping live programmes wont reboot as they did many times on switch on.
I wish I understood the problem; I had an instant recording last week that was impossible to skip through. However no subsequent problems. Let us know how you get on.

Martin It was tuned to channel 101 BBC1HD – basically where the on/off timer left it.
Does the same thing happen if it is tuned to BBC1 SD?

My 4000T also had Channel 4 SD blank for Feb 6th when I tried this morning.
Channel 4 have form for doing things like that so I would assume that is a broadcast issue.

I got up early today (for me) and checked the EPG on the 4000T at just after 7:15 when it powers down on the auto set up and checked the EPG then, I went straight to 6th of Feb and initially it was all there then it started disappearing as I cycled back through!
What channel were you tuned to when the EPG started to disappear?

There are several programme guides available. The basic now and next system, the free view 7 day programme guide.
There are then various enhancements which ads further information, longer time periods, backwards epg etc
There are then complete replacements that don’t rely in the Freeview EPG at all.
But are these being broadcast over the air?

As for the comparison with the the Sony TVs, they may (I don’t know) get their EPGs from a different source, so could be more reliable for that reason.
What alternative source do you think Sony could be using? It seems very unlikely to me.

I have a 4000T, a 5000T and a 9300. The EPG on all three is no longer populating properly on all three, yet the EPGs on the connected TVs to all of these units work seamlessly. This coincides with the BBC News changes recently made on the Nottingham transmitter which is about 5.5 miles from where I live.
So have you retuned the PVRs? For the 4000T and 5000T I would suggest doing an auto tune with the Smart Tune option off.

It’s a FVP 5000T. The other one is a HDR Fox T2. It has a replacement remote control too and the OK+0 reset does not work on that either.
Then you need to buy a remote control for one of the boxes that will allow the mode to be changed.

My humax 1800t has worked perfectly for some time. Now it is telling me I need to initialize T V apps. Why is this, will I get standard TV that I always had ie BBC i player ect. Or will I have apps that I have to pay for.
Are you sure that message is coming from the 1800T rather than the TV?

Good morning. The action suggested at the link does not work for me. The red light does not stay on on the remote control. I believe it may not be the original remote as the PVR is a refurbished model.
You don’t make it clear which box you are changing. If it is the FVP-5000T then try changing the mode on the 2000T instead; procedure is just the same.

Thanks for all the suggestions, it was the comment about Pi-Hole that made me think about Diversion being the issue.
Glad you found a solution. It is certainly not the first time that something unusual on the network has stopped FTP working.

I have just installed Filezilla & tried that & still getting the same issue.
Odd. Do you have the FTP anonymous option on? It should be off if you supply a user name.

I notice that you have a Pi Hole, which caused a problem with FTP, see:

Well spotted.
