No still wont send
At a guess the picture size or resolution is too high. Just describe in text what you see.

The USB stick is formatted as FAT (MBR) using disk utility on Mac. Moving the new copy to USB doesn’t work either (the copy just disappears). The FVP can see the USB drive and a different USB stick formatted the same way with Music files on it can be seen and the music files play. Has anyone successfully copied recordings from FVP to USB stick? I thought I would ask before contacting HUMAX.
Yes just tried and it works for me to a FAT32 (USB) stick. Two provisos: the files are for some reason copied to a folder .recordings (a full stop before recordings that will make the folder invisible to a standard ls command on Linux). The recording on the USB drive is listed in the same place as the original (so it looks as though you have duplicates) see this post from Barry.

The DNS server addresses are set by the router in its DHCP response when the FVP connects to the network.
My router allows me to set the DNS address provided by the DHCP response; I have it set so the primary DNS server is OpenDNS and the secondary is the Internet providers DNS.

I separated the HDMI cables as far away as they would go from the aerial cable and IT WORKED!!
Result! Well done.

The aerial and HDMI cables are close together but there is no other choice. The aerial connector is right below the HDMI connectors.
So I can’t actually separate them.
Agreed they will be close at the ends where they connect to the TV but surely you can keep them apart beyond that?
The aerial cable is one long cable from the roof down the house and thru a hole in the wall into the TV. I can’t change the cable.
You could fit a face plate or a coupler where it comes through the wall. Is the cable old; if it is modern it could be reasonably screened.
I’ve used the same HDMI cables since I bought the tv nearly 3 years ago and as I have said, I didn’t have this trouble before last week.
So what HAS changed? Have you checked for water getting into the cable (which can cause reception problems and worse destroy the tuner in the TV)?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing more.
I am stuck on this because currently I can’t see the FVP in Windows Explorer. This happened to me when I first investigated the functionality and after doing nothing it showed up a few days later.
One other suggestion that you might want to pursue there are some clients around written in Java for the HDR-FOX T2 or HDR-2000T that will grab the DLNA stream and save it to file as decrypted content eg https://github.com/Moosemorals/media-browser NB ignore the HD capability as it needs to remove the protection on HD recordings and the method used is not applicable to a FVP. I am fairly sure there are others but I haven’t the time to ferret them out.

(Going slightly off topic) I do find it immensely frustrating when coming up against software clashes/incompatibilities which I thought had been largely overcome now that Macs are no longer a minority interest.
The statistics don’t support your claim of “No longer a minority interest”. the first statistics for sales I found said that sales in 2018 were 259 million Windows PCs and 18 million Mac PCs. I agree that 18 million is a sizeable number of users but it is a minority.

But as I said, I can watch them but only if I switch off the Humax box first!
You certainly ought to be able to get the correct multiplexes. Is the HDMI lead from the Humax close to the aerial cable for the TV? It could be interference causing the problem and getting them as far apart as possible might help as might a better quality screened HDMI lead and a double screened aerial feed cable for the TV.

When I have my Humax 1100S box switched on, all the HD channels, except channels 1 to 5 on Freeview don’t work. All it says is “No signal. Please check your antenna connection.” All the SD channels are fine.
Can I just confirm that you are saying that channels like BBC Four HD and BBC NEWS HD are missing? These are carried on different multiplexes (to the main HD channels) which are transmitted at lower power so you may not be able to receive them. If you could supply your postcode we can give you sensible advice.

As recommended, I disconnected the hard drive and switched on again but it still won’t boot and just displays PVR-9300T on the display. Is there anything else I can try now that Plan A has not worked for me?
A couple of thoughts on this:
One process that has helped in similar situations in the past is:
“Switch off at mains.
Disconnect aerial
Switch on and start the pvr.
If it is now responsive go into the menu and do a default setting allowing it to do an automatic tune that finds no channels.
Then standby and switch off, reconnect aerial and switch on/start again.
Tune in using whichever of automatic or manual works in your situation (manual is often required to prevent channel allocation and recording problems).”
Secondly if you read this thread from the top the original poster found that disconnecting the hard drive still left the PVR displaying PVR-9300T. Connecting and formatting a different drive fixed his problem. If you have a spare drive from a PC try fitting it in the PVR and see if it works (note all content on the drive will be lost). Alternatively as you have three other 9300T temporarily take the hard drive out of one of the others and fit it into the problematic 9300T and see if it works. Note when fiddling around inside the PVR be very careful to disconnect the mains power while the case is open and be very careful with the power supply as it is very easy to destroy it.

Would an ‘early’ version stop it booting then?
I don’t think it is very likely but if it was running a very early version then just maybe.

This network status display shows my own findings – when the router is shown as primary and secondary DNS then internet access does not work – for a reason I have not yet discovered. Can you try a wired connection and set the ip address and DNS server addresses manually – i.e. not DHCP? DNS addresses should be those assigned by your ISP.
Why use the ISP DNS? I have long preferred third party DNS providers; I use OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. There are various other free DNS providers but my DNS related problems went away when I switched to OpenDNS and I haven’t had the motivation to evaluate the others.

In the meantime, just to assist, the Finder Window is like the Windows explorer pane: it shows all files and folders on the computer and on any network it is attached to.
I understood that much already; what I am asking is HOW it interacts with other networks (and I simply do not believe that it interacts with “any network”).

Thanks for the quick response, Martin. If I can get the system flush file, how would I use it?
You load it in the same way as a software update via the serial port see https://tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html
but the one that won’t boot was bought unused complete with all original packing and bundled items less than a year ago
Do you know what software version it was using?
