My YouView Box starting freezing many weeks ago, often leaving the TV screen a pretty shade of purple. No sound or anything and it fails to respond to the remote control.

I have had to use the switch on the back of the box to restart it, but even that doesn’t always unlock it.

In desperation I downloaded instructions on how to do a Factory Reset but Keep the Recordings. This wasn’t easy, took about 6 attempts and about 3 hours.

Once done it seemed to work for about 48 hours, and then reverted to freezing up again, sometimes after only 20 minutes use, sometimes after 3 or 4 hours use.

I am trying to do another reset – but it is sitting there showing me the ‘PROGRESSING’ bar without any progress.

Is it junk, time to buy a Panasonic ???

I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE ALL MY RECORDINGS !!!
