They have not been working for two days now.

Ethernet cable and connection is fine.

Me too – looks like the Humax keeps forgetting the connection to the (BT) hub.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Iplayer access has been poor for about a month now. Usually get the loading will take about 1 minute message but it never loads. Switch off for a bit then on again but still nothing then out of the blue- maybe that night, or the next day, you’ll try again and it comes up first time. More often than not it’s ‘loading will take about a minute’ though. It’s always been Iplayer problems for me. Now the forum is closing and it’s looking like the Humax has had it’s day. How tedious now I have to find yet another way to watch basic TV channels.

I’m plusnet. I wont ever buy a Humas or Freesat box again.

Any recommendations for alternate. I have a raspberry pi that I am using with a keyboard but want to slob on the sofa with a remote. Preferable open source.

If you are talking about streaming services then my Chromecast dongle does the biz for me. It has a remote control and all the usual suspects are available to preload on the dongle. Any that aren’t can be cast from your phone/tablet/laptop.

One thing I did do was add an ethernet to USB adapter which means the connection is rock solid compared to the inbuilt wi-fi connectivity needing a dongle reboot every few days.

Panasonic PVR+DVD recorder/player (EX97) and Roku for streaming, both rock solid, no adapters and no faffing about casting from your phone.

Actually casting is less of a faff when it comes to finding content using the touch-screen UI rather the pecking on the TV on-screen keyboard with the remote control.

Only two days ago a friend was complaining of having to faff with his phone to make his Chromecast work which is why I used the term in my earlier post. Voice search seems to work fine on my Roku, screen keyboard is there if needed.
