Hi guys using a recon 1000S and still very new to it, on the old Faxsat DHR you could control the Foxsat’s volume but playing with the new 1000S tonight it seems it’s not working, the voloume bar goes up and down but the volume stays the same and to alter it i have to use the Sony TV remote, Do i have a duff unit?
Were you watching a HD channel ? You probably had surround sound output turned off on the Foxsat. If you do the same with the HDR1000S it should work the same way.
Yea i think i was on a HD channel, as for the surround sound i have no idea to be honest left it at default, as i don’t have PVR/DVD/TV rigged up to any audio equipment?
Are you say volume does not work on HD channels Granham?

Change it to stereo and in all probability your problem will go away.

The problem is with your TV not understanding how to change the volume on the default audio output format used on HD.

Settings – Picture and Sound – Digital Audio
Out – Stereo.
