    Good day,

    Three questions on USB functions-

    1) Can I rotate JPG photos from lanscape to portrait orientation?

    2) Can I record video to a USB device from the Hard drive?

    3) Can I play video from a USB device?

    Welcome to our Forum :-)

    1. Not via the unit no.

    2. You can copy/move content from the internal HDD to USB connected HDD.

    3. Yes

Assuming UI is very similar to a HDR-FOX-T2. Plug in device and see a message usb is loading. You get a popup asking if you want Video Music or Photo and Copy.

If it times out Media – Blue (storage) – Select USB OK, Select USB Drive OK to open. Press yellow to switch display to Video Music Photo. To select files for copy move use red (toggle select on/off). To play back from usb use OK just like playback from internal HDD

Rotate your images on a PC, try Windows Paint if your version of Windows has it (assuming you have a windows PC).

If the programmes you copy are in SD format you can also play them on another device. For example, programmes I wish to keep I put on my NAS drive. That way I can then stream them to a whole host of other devices.

I make a point of never recording any programmes on my 2000T in anything other than SD for that entire reason. Well maybe not the entire reason, as if I’m being honest I can’t really tell which is HD and SD most of the time so I have the added bonus of more recording time to the HDD. :D
