Problem solved! Unable to change password but supplied with new sky router (had an old o2 one) and the password was accepted immediately. However still couldn’t access portal despite having network connection. Read several posts offering suggestions: put dongle in usb at front, in settings/ internet click on apply in both wifi and lan, switch off at wall and on again. Not sure what made it work, but it does!!! Hope this helps anyone having similar problems.
