I wanted to transfer some of y recordings from my new Aura, like i did with my T2, to my external hard drive. I think I need an ftp app apparently, can anyone recommend one please?

Hi, will the new Aura be able to transfer SD recording for archive like the old FOX HDR T2? USB transfer to HDD or USB Drive via USB ?

    Unfortunately not.

I am very confused. Have things changed? I ask because the Aura Manual seems to say it is possible.

I can see the recordings in Windows Media Player and play them on my PC but Media Player does not allow me to download them.

Use FTP on your PC. Download a free copy of FileZilla.

    Login id = aura

Password = 0000 (unless you have changed it)

IP = The IP of Humax Aura (look in the same area as your clipboard attachment – under settings). Windows Media Player may also show the IP.

    Port = 2323.

    It works, just tried it.

Or use the webpage at http://[ipofhumaxaura]:8080. It might need DLNA enabled.

    Many thanks!

I will try it. FileZilla is the thing I was missing.

I’ll post how I get on with it.

The Chrome way works the same as the 4000 did.

In Windows open Windows Media Player

Find the Aura 4K Media Server, click on Videos and all your recordings should list

Right click on one and go to properties.

Select the first bit of the link up to the .TS

    e.g. http://192.168.0.64:51003/web/pvr/HCONTENT:42.ts

Copy that bit into the browser bar in Chrome or Edge and the file downloads as a .TS that can be played in VLC

Thanks. That is very simple and worked for me.

Firefoz downloaded the file as HCONTENT 45.mpeg so it lost its title. Windows Media Player failed to open it but it opened and played with MediaMonkey.

It may be a problem with my Windows Media Player as it keeps throwing up error messages even after reinstalling it.

The download is a lot quicker than copying files off my FVP-4000T.

Thanks. My Aura IP address on my network is 192.168.1.163 so I went to http://192.168.1.163:8080 and it opened up the Humax Mobile Control page which leads to a list of the recordings. I can play the recordings on my PC which is on the same network as the Aura but I cannot download the files to the PC.

You need to convert the recording to the download format before you get the option to download. You can do that on this web page, it is the first icon in the last column, the blue icon. Or you can convert in the box interface, or in the aura app. After conversion is complete, a green download icon will become available.

FileZilla retains the file name and allows you to download in batch. It works extremely well.

This is how I access the files on my Aura using Windows 10.

    Open File Explorer

Click on This PC (Ignore Network)

    Select Aura 4K Media Server

    Open the Recordings folder

Please let me know if it works for you.

The only way I have found, using FileZilla or File Explorer, to play on a PC, is to set the HD encrypted files to SD quality on the Aura.

Have not found a way of moving files from PC to external HD on the Aura, without removing HD from Aura. FileZilla works well, moving files from PC to internal HD on Aura.
