InactiveGreetings fellow Humax users.
Newby hoping for help.
I have a HDR1100s and it is fantastic.
One thing I cannot understand is trying to turn it on!
When connected and having enjoyed an evening of TV and then the TV is turned off the Humax blue light turns red. So far so good.
Then the next time want to use the system I turn on the tv which tells me there is no signal. red light on Humax. any use of the remote control to switch on the humax is fruitless. If I press the “on” button on the remote I can only change the red light to no light or back to red again. The only way I can get it to turn on and give me a blue light is to disconnect the mains supply from the humax, wait a few seconds and plug it back in again.
Hey presto red light followed by a blue light and more excellent pictures.
OK. what did I miss? is there a secret procedure no one has told me about. Any help would be most gratefully received
PS the on/off button on the top of the box gives me exactly the same result.

InactiveSounds like you have CEC activated on your TV in settings. Turn this off and use the Humax remote to control the Humax and nothing else.

InactiveHello Faust,
Thank you for your quick reply.
Nice to know there is something I can try. Just one thing, be a pal and tell me what CEC stands for. This is all new to me.
Sorry to be a thicky.
Cheers

InactiveGoogle for CEC and the make of your TV to find out what they call it. For example, Samsung call it Anynet+.
Once you know that you can look through your TV settings to find that feature name.

InactiveHello again,
Regarding the CEC.
I found the name of the CEC on my TV and switched it off.
The two units work independently now but I still have a problem.
Which is, the Humax won’t turn on.
The best I can get is No Light or a red light. No matter what combination of button pushing, either on the remote or the top of the ‘box’ it won’t go blue.
After all that the only way I can be sure of a blue light is to switch off the mains to the humax only with the TV on and then aftr 10 seconds turn on the mains again. Not touching any further buttons the blue light comes on by it self after about 15 to 20 seconds.
I have to admit I already sent a set back for the same fault!
Could there be more than two of these with the same fault……………
Any thoughts
