It is a well known problem which also affects the HDR-FOX T2 and I am not aware of any solution. Later Humax models (FVP-5000T, Aura) have perfect subtitle synch.
Yes, got a 5000 as well. -many problems with that!
I have also noticed this on an 1800T. It only happens sometimes and usually when I turn on subtitles part way through the program.
Further to my previous post, I came across this “fix” by chance.
I turned on subtitles part way through a recording and they were out of sync.
Because I had missed a bit of the program I pressed the “jump back 20 seconds” button and, hey presto, the subtitles were in sync.
Could just be a coincidence.
It was on the Drama channel.
Has anyone tried just “pause” for a few seconds?
I’ve tried all sorts. Sometimes it comes back in sync, but this doesn’t last for very long.

I agree with you; I couldn’t find a reliable solution on the HDR-2000T or HDR-FOX T2. Both the FVP-5000T and the Aura handle subtitles reliably.
