    I inadvertantly recorded the Olympics closing ceremony on HD when it was being proadcast in 3D. As a result on playback I can only get split screen (I don’t have a 3d TV) Is there any cure for this

    Sorry, but no. The 3D broadcast was tranmitted as two side by side images and only a 3D enabled TV can correctly interleave these images which then must be viewed using the appropriate 3D glasses.
