Hi Folks
Does the Humax 1100S have a setting where you can change the sound output to ‘Dolby’ (for example) to your TV which then outputs to a Sound Bar? I have a Sky Box which i want to replace with Freesat and my set up is quite basic: Sky > TV > SoundBar. All are connected through HDMI cable in that order.
So I would like to have: Freesat > TV > Soundbar set up
Is that possible?

Like a sky box by default the audio output depends on what the broadcaster transmits. For HD channels Dolby Digital is output (2.0 Stereo or 5.1 as broadcast). SD channels are output in PCM Stereo. Some kit has issuse with Dolby Digital so the output for HD can be set to output PCM Stereo (same as SD channels).

hi – thanks for that. So pretty much the same as I have currently set up. Only difference is that with sky and when you change from ‘Normal’ to ‘Dolby’ the image and audio are totally out of sync. Even with Sky’s audio delay setting it doesnt improve. Unless I try an Sky > TV > Optical cable or even soundbar to sky directly?
(if that makes sense)
