InactiveHi Everyone.
I have cancelled my Sky subscription and intend to use Freesat.
I was planning to buy the latest Humax Freesat Freetime PVR via John Lewis.
However, on the John Lewis site I can see that they are not reordering both the 1010S and 1000S Freetime boxes; there are also a number of review complaints.
Are you aware of issues with these Humax boxes meaning I should delay my purchase?
Is there an alternative box?
Are Humax planning to release new boxes?
My requirements are: up to date technology, Freesat, Freetime, Storage.
WIFI is not a necessity as I have a Homeplug network which has proven to be more stable than WIFI.
Many thanks

InactiveThanks for the corrected link.
I note the comments about the possibility of a new model.
Guess I’ll have to make do with the Freesat from my Sony TV and the free to air channels on my Sky box until the new Humax model arrives.
Any idea of how long?

Not a clue. But the details Barry posted, say same software and internal hardware, removed scart and different form factor (presumably smaller as no requirement to accommodate scart socket). Doesn’t appear to be any particular reason to wait unless a smaller box appeals.

InactiveI would add there may well be a price advantage in going for the current unit. Wonder if the new unit is the same size as the HB-1000S with a 2.5″ squeezed inside?

InactiveSo far, a little surprisingly to me, there doesn’t seem to be any hurry to lower prices. Yet the new model must be expected to materialise in the near future, else JL and other retailers would surely re-order.
