I recently had a problem which I resolved by going back to default settings. I now have a new problem.
When I am watching a live prgramme the Humax skipps from channel to channel every few seconds.
If I am looking at the guide the background channel does not skip. If I am watching a recording it does not skip.
However if I set the humax up to record something new I get the message:
Recording failed – unable to track programme. I assume this is because the humax tries to record somenthing but by the time it has started the humax has skipped to the next channel.
Any ideas
Did you follow Luke’s reply to your first query or did you go straight to default setting without powering down? If you didn’t try Luke’s suggestion, try it now – without doing default settings. See if that stops the skipping channel problem.
As you’ve already done a default setting it is probable that the 1800T has automatically scanned for channels. Are you sure that the channel(s) you’ve tried to record have adequate signal quality? Are there duplicate BBC1 and ITV1 around channel 800? If so you may need to manually retune.

I can’t remember if I did power down completely but I did it just now and it seems to have solved the skipping problem.
