InactiveCan anyone help. My HDR-fox t2 suddenly has a mind of its own. Most of the time it works fine. You then perhaps want to change tv channel to say 80 and 80 comes up in the corner of the screen as normal but nothing happens , you’re stuck where you currently are! No buttons on the remote work. An engineer has upgraded me to the latest software available but this has not helped. Switching the set off at the mains and switching back on clears the problem but this is obviously no solution! I could buy another box but this seems defeatist to put it mildly as the unit cost £250 only 2years ago! Help!!!

ParticipantYou should first make a note of your recording schedule and then carry out a reset to factory defaults. If that does not resolve the issue then post again and also if it does.

InactiveThanks Graham. I’ve done what you suggest. Will let you know the outcome.
Chopsticks.

InactiveHi Graham. Everything ok until half an hour ago. Tried to turn set off and all functions on hand set
stuck. Tried controls on box itself, no good either! Had to turn the actual tv off instead. Is the situation
terminal?

ParticipantDoes the box work again after the mains power is restored. If it does best bet is to install the custom firmware and use the disk fix routine built into it. You can also back up your existing recordings to a PC.

InactiveWhen you say that the screen freezes, do you mean that the screen freezes? or do you mean that the box does not respond to the remote control, or front panel buttons?

InactiveHi Graham and Brian. Sorry if my description is confusing. The box does not respond to the remote control, or front panel buttons as Brian describes.

InactiveHi Graham, regarding your earlier comments, yes the box does work again after mains power restored. Being a layman I have no idea what you mean by installing custom firmware. Can you explain further.
