I have an HDR1000s that worked fine until 2 weeks ago,
I now get this message every time I try to rewind live TV:
“This function does not work while retrieving data for time shift buffer.
try again in a few seconds.”
Everything else works fine.
Any suggestions on how to fix this please?

Most likely problem is that the time shift buffer has become corrupt. Depending on your skills, the simple fix is to format the hard drive but that will delete all saved recordings; the alternative is to take the hard drive out and attach it to a computer running Linux and delete the time shift buffer file (if you do go down this is route it would also be worth examining the SMART data and running a file system check).

Formatting the hard drive fixed the problem and now it’s working again, lost all the recorded programmes but no sad loss as most had been on there for months and would never be watched!
Good to have the rewind feature back
