InactiveHi all, ive been having on and off issues with my FVP4000t remote. Sometimes the remote locks up and i cant change channel or anything, when this happens normally the only button that works is power and volume. Usually i turn it all off an on a few times and eventually it works again…
same happened tonight… after switching on and off a fews times i got most of my buttons back but now the home button wont work, frustrating as i cant now get into the settings.
Whats the best way to fix??
on another note i have a 2TB powered usb external drive which i have movies on, i have used this fine until tonight. when i plug the usb in it takes a few mins but eventually recognises it and asks me if i want movies, pics or music, normally id press ok and it would open up the drive directory…. tonight nothing… Are the 2 issues linked… I have tried unplugging the usb and restarting to see if i can get my home button working…but still nothing.
i cant advise what software version im on as i cant get into the settings via the home button. The unit is just over 12mths old now…
hope somebody can help…

How are you switching on/off?
putting it into standby (off) and back on again won’t help if there are problems no matter how many times this is done. The box needs to be switched off at the socket or physically unplugged for 10 seconds or so. Physically disconnecting from the mains only needs to be done once, it’ll take a few minutes after to reboot/restart and the LED will change from red to blue or vice-versa, just wait a few minutes.
If the problems persist then change the batteries in the remote for new ones. Any new alkaline will do, expensive branded are no better than supermarket brand. Steer clear of cheap rubbish from markets and poundshops, just make sure they’re new alkaline and don’t be tempted to swap batteries from another remote/device even if they work.
I’d imagine the usb drive is slow because the box (fvp4000t) is slow. The box and needs to be switched on/off properly.
Let us know how you get on and welcome to the forum
