First post, been following since dumping sky and setting up with a Hdr1100s in February, had a few glitches but nothing major and enjoying it.
Anyway, since the box updated to the new software last week I no longer get the purple light when recording or in playback mode. Recording is now just a straight red light and playback does not switch from the on (blue) light. It’s not impacting anything and recordings and playback working as they should. Just wondered if anyone else’s unit was now behaving in the same way with respect to the lights since the update?
I must confess I put black masking tape over my HDR 1000S LED display because it is completely maddening, especially when it scrolls text and distracts me. That solves your issue of whether the recording light (which I can never even see from a normal viewing distance anyway!) has the right colour or not
