Listings have disappeared from the “Recorded programs” page and the “Playlist” But a check of the “HDD Control” shows disc to be 40% full. Can I recover these recordings??

Yes but only by opening the box, connecting the disk to a PC and using Humaxrw in recovery mode (-r command line argument). See http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/HumaxRW
