    Will my Foxsat HDR record with the TV switched off?

    Yep. In fact, a lot of people use it to listen to the radio with their TV off, using the front LCD on the box to tell them which station they are on. Even me, from time to time.

    But to do that you need to have a separate audio link to a sound system that bypasses the TV set.

    And with practise you can navigate to the Media list and play back a radio recording without turning on the TV.

    Not if your box is connected via an AV amp.

    Using an AV amp counts as bypassing the TV by my reckoning.
