InactiveLG TV, Humax HDR 1100s
I’m puzzled by recent changes to Freesat programme guide.
I used to be able to get ITV (SD) on channel 103, this now shows ITV HD but it won’t load. ITV SD is now on 111 and works OK.
How can I make ITV HD work properly, or replace ITV SD onto Channel 103?

You can’t – seems you have lost the ITV-HD transponder. could be lnb or cabling issue (water in coax cabling can knock out some transponders.
tap in 999. Do you get a Freesat Info dispLAY
If so display the signal test screen
Home – settings – System Info – Signal Info
This should show you both tuners Strength and quality. Blue tick followed by Good
And Freesat box connected with 2 cable
Ignore the attachment when I tried to use non freesat I lost ITV-HD and had to do a freesat re-tune

InactiveThanks for your post Graham. I followed your instructions (accurately I think) and at the end I couldn’t get 999 from the epg, though did get a screen telling me how good Freesat is, should I get more? On Channel 103, ITV HD
Settings Signal info tells me that both Tuner 1 & 2 have no signal.
All other Channels are working normally.
We live in NW Spain and can get good reception almost all weather, except VERY heavy rain on a 1.8m dish.
Reluctant to check cables at lnb as have to use a small scaffold tower to reach it.
Anything else I can try to isolate the problem?

InactiveFurther info:- in Settings, General Settings I checke the entry for free 12168, it shows 12168V,2950,3/4
Selecting this data and doing a channel search shows 100%,TV 0,Radio 0
Searching All channels shows TV: 704, Radio: 62
Changed bac to Freesat Mode, change 203 on epg is still ITV HD, still get warning “The receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is too weak”.

ITV-HD has changed the Forward Error Correction from 3/4 to 2/3. This increases the transponder capacity but makes the signal less robust. Guessing that’s why you have lost it.
This caught out some Panasonic TV models that the spec said supported 2/3 and did not. Some took Panasonic to court over this. If you do a google search you should some threads about this.
Can you still watch the ITV-SD variant on lcn 977.
The other HD channels in this list still use 3/4
If you can get these it confirms the theory

999 is not a channel it’s just a data stream with Freesat info. It is though on the Freesat home transponder. Without access to this you can’t do a freesat re-tune. It’s a easy way to check that the home transponder is available. It used to be on a PAN- Europe beam but was moved to a UK spot beam. So harder to get in Iberia.
Best to ask locally perhaps a local dish erector. You may need an even larger dish.

ParticipantI have asked a friend who uses Freesat in Central France if he can still get ITV-HD

InactiveActually I am in SW France (32460 Perchede). ITV-HD is fine, Signals on both tuners show as ‘good’, picture fine.

InactiveConfirm I get 999 and all the other channels in your list 949-979.
I think the data (Freq etc) for channel 103, ITV HD, is wrong ie not the same as your screenshot. How do I change these details to match yours?
Getting a bit befuddled now and can’t even reproduce the info I posted earlier (Freq 12168V,2950,3/4)

There is no way to get the transponder details using a G2 box.
It’s simple using a Foxsat-HDR. Unable to add a transponder with the correct parameters on a G2 box so cannot use non freesat on this box to check reception.
Only way is to restore access to channel which I suspect means a larger dish.
Pretty sure STV-HD is also fec 2/3. You could try a Freesat re-tune using a Scottish postcode to confirm.
