InactiveHi
I have had a problem with my Foxsat-HDR. For the past few weeks, whenever I switched it on, it would search for new channels, after about 30 seconds, it would reboot and start the process over again.
Thought I would try and reset to factory settings. but not working.
When I do a Freesat Tune, it detects the antenna and signal and also get past the postcode input without any problems. Also says at the bottom of the screen the strength and quality is 100%.
The next stage is where I come unstuck. I then hit the search button.
When it does the freesat tune, after about 30 seconds, with the progress at 0% and Total Channels is 0, it will then switch off and reboot and I get a message saying “No channels are currently available, Press <ok? to search for channels”
If I do the freesat tune, then the same thing happens. The only way round it is to do the manual tune which finds loads of channels but of course I cannot use the EPG which is the important thing for me.
Has anyone else had this problem?
If it is a problem with the box, then I have no problem buying another one as I have had this for over 6 years and have had my moneys worth. However I do not want to spend £100 plus to buy another box and find I have the same problem.
Would appreciate some advice, pleae

ParticipantYour software is way out of date. Latest version is 1.00.21 27 Jul 2012
Probably easiest way to update is to flash the box with the custom firmware (which adds other significant advantages). This will update the Humax firmware at the same time.
Suspected your box was out of date as the latest version updates the channel list during overnight housekeeping without informing you.

Using manual tune, locate transponder 11428 H (could be 11427). What is indicated signal strength and quality ?
Are you located in the UK ?

Very odd – if you scan the transponder what do you locate ?

InactiveSuggest you try a reset to default as that is a major firmware jump. Then try entering first part of the postcode.

InactiveCarried out a factory reset and everything is now working.
SW 1.00.21
LV U 7.54
In Diagnostics Tuner 1 is now showing 100% in Signal and Strength, before the reset there were no readings. I have only 1 cable connected.

InactiveMake sure you have the loop from LNB1 OUT to LNB2 IN connected – the Foxsat will assume it is and report possible clashes accordingly.
Snap Graham.
Happy new year.

To work properly you need a short piece of coax with a f connector on both ends. Connect tuner 1 out to tuner 2 in. Without this the box will let you make dual recording reservations that require the loop cable to be connected, these will fail when the box attempts to make the second recording unless both happen to be from the same transponder.
