    Hello

I have recently purchased a PVR-5000T and when I looked at the System Information the model is showing as PVR-4000T so doesn’t match. The usual original sticker on the underside of HUMAX devices with MAC Information, model number etc etc has been replaced with a barcode. My friend has a PVR-5000T and it shows correctly under System Information. Can anyone offer me any insight into this. I have a feeling this is not good at all.

Sounds like you have bought a 4000T.

From what I remember the 5000T was all black and the 4000T was two tone, black/ silver or coffee silver.

Can you confirm its colour, where did you buy such an old machine.

    Hello

That is the curious thing. It is all black (matt) and the booklets in the box are for the PVR-5000T. The remote was not original and didn’t have HUMAX on it but looks almost identical.

I bought it through Amazon from 3rd party seller…. a company in London.

My 5000T is all shiny black but has a sort of crosshatch pattern across the top.

You have bought an FVP-4000T but the good news is that it is actually very similar to the FVP-5000T. The FVP-5000T was essentially a relaunch of the FVP-4000T with improved software in an attempt to loose the poor reputation of the earlier model. It soon emerged that the FVP-4000T could run the FVP_5000T software. See https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/difference-between-4000t-5000t

Thankyou all for replying. Appreciate the help you have given me. Well based on the information here it does confirm my suspicion. As the item was sold to me as an FVP-5000T I will take it up with the company that sold it to me. Thanks.

Just for completion, I’ll update this later with the outcome if that’s okay.

    Hello

I contacted the company and presented my case to them. They said it was ‘likely’ to have been a packing error. It doesn’t matter what I think really, because they did send out the correct box next day. So now have the PVR-5000T.

    So that is resolved.
