Hi All, I have had my HDR 1000S for a couple of weeks now, over the last 2/3 days i keep getting picture and sound loss, it just goes off and on every few seconds, it doesn’t do it all the time but can do it at start or after 2-3 hours use, any ideas please? It has the latest Software installed,

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the Forum :-)

    HDMI handshaking problem?

You could try changing the resolution the unit outputs see if that makes a difference:

    Settings

    Picture and Sound

    Resolution

Thanks for that, I have it set on 1080p as the tv is 1080p, should i try it at 1080i or 760p ?

Try them in turn see if it makes a difference.

    Make/model of TV?

Try 1080i – I would suggest checking the correct seating of the HDMI cable first (both ends).

This sounds very similar to an issue I was having. After a number of exchanges with Humax support to try different things I replaced the HDMI cable (the one bundled with the HDR) with another (previously connected to my PS3) and thus far seems to have fixed this issue.

I had checked the cables were firmly seated and I was also using the latest software, although I have had this issue with all versions of the software.

Interestingly I have reused the cable for my PS3, with no obvious issues.

I changed the HDMI to a different slot on the TV yesterday and so far no problems, and i’m still watching in 1080p – bad contact maybe? fingers crossed for today!
