Hi, does the HB 1000s have a non-freesat mode?
I have one but cannot see where non-freesat might be.

Settings – System Settings – STB mode – Change to non-freesat mode

I am very pleased so far with my new receiver I previously had a FoxSat-HD since 2008 which had served me very well.
1. How do I get the STB to re-scan the non-FreeSat channels, I want to be more selective.
2. Can I get the scan to exclude scrambled channels?
3. Should I also be able to pick up Hotbird with a fixed dish pointing to Astra?
1. Menu | Setting | System settings | STB Mode | Change to non-Freesat mode
2. Menu | Settings | Non-Freesat | Channel search
3. “Transponder All” will be highlighted
4. Press Red|Green|Yellow|Blue, then Green|Yellow|Blue, and new menu pages will appear:
*Dish type (fixed)
*Satellite
Switch type (LNB | Variety of DiSEq settings)
LNB (Universal | Other types)
22kHz Auto
*Transponder (All | Select)
*Network search (On | Off)
Scramble type (All|FTA|CAS)
Channel type (TV|Radio)
I believe that Freesat is broadcast on Astra 1N, and other satellites close to at 28.2E can be seen here

So I though I did a non-Freesat scan on Astra_1 for all FTA channels, but it seems to show all encrypted channels too.
1. Has anyone been able to scan any non-Freesat satellites in FTA mode, and have it ignore all encrypted channels?
2. The non-Freesat channels becomes channel 5000+, Does anyone know if the same channel is also assigned the same channel number, or if there is any logic to the numbering system?

First channelled scanned gets 5000, next 5001 etc. If you scan again you get duplicate channels with the last number allocated +1.
You should be able to exclude encrypted channels.
The raw broadcast channels do not have a logical channel number. That task is down to whatever epg you use.
You can normally renumber non-freesat channels as you wish.
Welcome to the world of free to air satellite boxes, channel organisation is down to you and any changes you have to action yourself.
The freesat epg (like the Sky epg) updates your channel line up and allocates the logical channel numbers.

I don’t have a HB1000S so will have to be based on the other boxes. Using edit channels there is an option to select all TV channels, selecting delete removes all TV, repeat for Radio.
