I have 2 HDR-FOX T2s, both with the latest customised firmware HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.06. Both have the full web interface installed and both have the latest auto unprotect package installed. The problem I get is that when I tranfer any HD content to a USB flash drive, I can play back on a laptop, but do not get any sound. Happens with content recorded on either T2, and tried with 2 different USB flash drives, both used straight out of the packaging from new, and on 2 different laptops. SD content is fine. Tried playing back with Windows Media Player and Nero Media Player. Both laptops running Win 7. Either USB flash drive plays back fine when plugged into either T2. I’m guessing its a Codec type issue, but have no idea what I need.
Media Player Classic Home Cinema is easy to use, fee, advert free, small footprint, not bloated, plays well, excellent features.
Try using Splash Lite, which is available from HERE.
How about MPC-HC?
The install for that does not do much of an install, which is another reason why I like it.
For PC playing, I use VLC, which comes with a comprehensive set of codecs – I haven’t (consciously) tried it in HD recordings, as I tend to avoid HD as being a waste of bandwidth (for me)
