InactiveBarry,
Received my HDR-1000s yesterday and I’m a very happy smiley chappie at the moment as it works and it works well. After reading an astonishingly high amount of posts (it is pretty slow at work at the moment) I am a little wary about updating my software. There have been a few horror stories here and on Amazon.co.uk about people having updated their new devices and it going pear-shaped. A word of advice would be gratefully received regarding my small conundrum please.
Regards,
Phil

ModeratorDave – The only obvious fix for end users I believe.
Phil – Have not read Amazon, but as you might imagine I perform more updates then most end users, and my units have definitely not gone pear shaped with any public release – and welcome to our Forum

InactiveI rather think most are pure coincidence – that is based upon the type of problem reported. Before you unit applied an update several checks are performed to verify that the unit has received exactly what it should have and only them is flash memory updated.
I would not worry about and next time you power on (after 10:00 today) all will happen automatically.

InactiveHas fixed the YouTube problem on my setup. Wonder if the ‘Delete series’ option has been updated?

If you mean some sort of confirmation dialogue – then not in this release.

InactiveI see that the news release here…
http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/software-update-humax-hdr-1000s1010s-version-1-00-59/
…mentions “Additional back-end changes”, whatever that means.
It would be good that now all the promised OD and YouTube services are working that Freesat concentrate on fixing the many stupid design points in the GUI which have been widely complained about since launch.

InactiveWell credit where it’s due – we now have the promised On Demand services, YouTube is fixed and the unit generally is pretty reliable these days. It’s taken a bit of getting there but the HDR-1000s is now a very good product and is certainly worth the money. Very definitely streets ahead of my old Pace Sky HD box in terms of functionality and PQ.

I agree! I have VM TiVo also but tend to use the Humax as I really like the interface. It’s surprising how few people have heard of Freesat. On a recent Gadget Show featuring pvr boxes Freesat was conspicuous by by its absence. I ended up shouting at presenters.

InactiveI think Freesat’s head of product awareness really needs to consider their position. The lack of public awareness is abysmal.
