Hi,just invested in a hdr fox t2 from humax direct “A” grade job,i would like to know if it will run ok using a inverter(12v dc to 240 ac)with a modified sine wave,or does it need a pure sine wave i asked humax support but the reply was less than informative,also the reason i went for a humax was the fact there is a great forum for this product.
In common with most kit which have switch mode power supplies these days, it should not be an issue as the AC is first converted to smooth DC in the power supply. A good clue is the specified working voltage range, generally in the 100-250V range without changing any settings.

They will be just a step down transformer and a rectifier possibly with a voltage regulator. Computers etc use Switch Mode Power supplies.
