    Please can anybody help?

We bought a HUMAX HD Digital Recorder HDR-FOX T2 in December 2012.

When I press the Media button nothing happens at all. Also it has stopped to record programs which show in the pre-recording list but does not record them.

I made sure it is on PVR.

What else can I do/try to sort this out?

Many thanks for all your help and suggestions.

    Best Regards

    Monique

    Sounds like a disk problem.

    Can you pause live TV?

I don’t know the T2 but look in system settings for the disk – what if anything does it show?

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

    Just checked my recorder.

    1. I cannot pause live TV

    2. In System Preferences

    Model Name HDR-FOX T2

    Software 1.03.12

    Loaderversion a.7.33

    System ID 80BC.7E00

    Update Date 07 Feb 2014

    Micom Version 9.3

    MAC Address DC:D3:21:D3:63:A5

    3. If I go to “Preferences”, ‘RECORDING’ is blanked out.

Just now, I tryed to pre-record a program starting at 12:00hrs. It does not record, however, if I click on it in the recording schedule like it I wanted to sop it, it says “NOT AVAILABLE” which is odd as it doesn’t record?

For some reason your box can’t see the hard disk. Disconnect the box from the mains for 10 minutes and try again. If that fails and box is out of warranty, try removing the lid and remove and replace the hard disk connectors. They can sometimes fail to connect due to corrosion.

If that fails a new hard disk is likely to be needed.

The unit is not recognising the hard drive. You might have had a disk failure, or there may be a problem with your power supply unit, or the main board power distribution. It is unusual, but not impossible, for disk drives to fail completely without seeing warning signs: it is common to see problems with recordings breaking up and gradually getting worse first. When you boot up the unit do you hear the disk spin up? This usually happens about 20 seconds after switching on. Do you hear any disk noise at all, horrible scraping sounds etc. as these can indicate a failed disk.

Thank you. I certainly will try that but have to wait till my husband is back home tonight.

    Will keep you posted.
