What do I gain or lose by setting the resolution to 1080p50 from auto?

I’ve only set out to that to stop the annoying flip between 1080p60 to 1080p50 that seems to happen every time I switch between the TV tuner and IP services like iPlayer / Disney+ etc? Listing a second of audio as it switches over is really irritating. Maybe there’s a better way to stop that?

I’ve only got a 1080p TV so I’ve no need to consider 4K services etc.
