ParticipantWatching the Jury tonight in chasing playback from ITV1-HD in chasing plalback audio lost in the ads halfway through, anyone else ?. Recorded ITV1-HD after the programme finished as a test with no problems. Another ITV screw up ?

Inactive33 minutes through my recording and no loss of audio noted. If you mean only in the ads themselves then no idea as I skip and FF over them.

ModeratorJust checked my recording and it is fine – ITV HD London for my region/postcode.

ParticipantThanks all – very strange. Not just the ads it’s the whole of the second half and affects both audio tracks. I will replay this morning after a power cycle. Granada version if that’s relevant.

ParticipantAfrer power cycle it’s exactly the same. No audio from hdmi, spdif or RCA phono out from either the ac3 or AD track. Baffled !
Strangely my amp still says it’s getting pro-logic stereo just no sound.
Set This Morning ro record to see if it’s repeatable.

Not alone.
Read that earlier, appears they have picked up on my regions comment.
Just retuned my V13 unit to Granada, and currently have sound via HDMI to Sony TV.
Will set up a few timers.

Apparently it came back during the News, finger trouble ?

Relieved it’s not an intermittent box problem.

InactiveExactly same happend to me. Recorded on sky, started watching about 9.40, half way through third adverts sound went off. Watching in Yorkshire/Granada area where there seems to be a problem after looking at the link from grahamlthompson

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

That would appear to confirm it was an ITV problem, and not freesat or box issues.

InactiveI have just tried to watch last nights The Jury (SkyHD/Yorkshire) and can confirm audio was lost half way through first advert and I have no idea when it came back but was at least ten minutes into News at Ten. Sky tell me it was an ITV problem.

I wonder how much the silent adverts will cost ITV in compensation.
:What is really annoying you just do not get any sort of apology from ITV. 🙄

In contrast there was a short problem tonight on BBC1-HD, instantly acknowledged by an on screen message. OFCOM take note. How a major PSB UK transmitter can lose the audio for so long including it’s psb statutory requirement to provide a news service, without public censure beggars belief. Don’t they watch there own output ?

InactiveBeen told by ITV today – “We have established that there was a technical fault in the Granada/Yorkshire region on our ITV1HD channel.”
November 10, 2011 at 3:52 pm #28306Anonymous
InactiveThat much we already knew. I suppose we now know it was a technical fault and not human error. 🙄
