Blue – On

Red – Recording

Off – Unit is within the T-20 before a scheduled timer is due.– This indication removed by subsequent update I believe.

Edit:

The newer FVP-4000T’s now come with a LED underneath the unit and will show blue when on, red when in standby and purple when recording.
