Have recently purchased a reconditioned HDR 2000T from Humax and have had several problems. The one that is troubling me now is the fact that although the Humax is on and working, there is no longer a blue light underneath instead it has gone to the red light. Happened last night also and the only way to switch off was to disconnect the power supply. Any suggestions?

You misunderstand. Blue light is active and not recording; bright red light is active and recording; dimmer red light is standby. The difference between the two red lights is not great in my opinion and it is easy to confuse the two states.
